FACT: Missed pills and doubled up condoms are the most common misuse of birth control and can result in pregnancy or STIs.
| MYTH: If I'm just having oral sex, I don't need protection |
FACT: Oral sex is sex and some STIs-including HIV-can be transmitted orally. So a barrier method (like a condom or a dental dam) must be used for this type of sexual activity.
| MYTH: Condoms are the only 100% effective form of birth control |
FACT: Abstinence, that is, not having sex at all, is the only 100% effective form of birth control.
| MYTH: If I have unprotected sex or the condom breaks, all I can do is wait and hope I get my period |
