About Us

Oakland ClinicPlanned Parenthood Golden Gate is a non-profit health organization that has been helping women, men and teens make responsible choices for over 80 years. Since 1923, Planned Parenthood Golden Gate has been committed to delivering the highest quality reproductive health care, teaching responsible and age-appropriate sexuality education and has been working diligently to protect a woman's right to choose. Each year 55,000 women, men and teens visit Planned Parenthood Golden Gate's eight health centers.

Our expert team of caring professionals includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinicians, medical assistants, community educators and information specialists. Our team of trained educators provide a wide range of cutting-edge responsible sex education programs to nearly 10,000 youth and their parents annually throughout Alameda, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Sonoma counties. And our group of 135 dedicated volunteers helps us deliver affordable and accessible care to all our clients.

Our health centers are conveniently located and offer a wide range of reproductive and primary health care services. Our health centers have daytime, evening and Saturday hours. Make a confidential online appointment or call our appointment / information line at 1-800-967-PLAN (1-800-967-7526).

All Planned Parenthood's services are individualized and confidential. Your decision to be abstinent or to be sexually active and to use birth control is personal and private. We welcome all individuals regardless of race, ancestry, national origin, creed, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, income or age.

Planned Parenthood cares about the community. In addition to Planned Parenthood Golden Gate's eight Bay Area health centers, we have a satellite clinic in San Francisco open one day a week for populations with special needs. We have a case management program for residents of Alameda County, known as PREVENTIONFIRST. Our medical outreach program called Promotoras addresses the health needs of Spanish-speaking immigrant women in San Mateo County's poorest neighborhoods.
